Join the Carya String Quartet for an exploration of how cross-cultural and cross-generational influences can inspire the creator and the listener. This season opening weekend, presented at Archway Gallery on October 11th and at the Virtuosi of Houston Memorial City Mall Studio on October 12th, features the first of Mozart’s “Haydn” Quartets, K 387, dedicated to his mentor Joseph Haydn, Shostakovich’s fourth String Quartet in D Major, dedicated to his friend Pyotr Vilyams, and Glazunov’s Five Novelettes for String Quartet, which explore the styles of Spain, the Ottoman Empire, Russia, Vienna, and Hungary.
The evening will include a Silent Auction and Fundraiser.
